Peer Review Process

Journal of Electrical and Intelligent Systems (JEIS) is committed to publishing the best articles in the fields of Islamic economics and business research by researchers and academicians. Therefore, before we publish it, we will review all submitted articles using a double-blind review process conducted by editors and reviewers, and we will assess the articles' alignment with the aims, scope, and benefits of Islamic economics and business research.

The review process, which can enhance article quality, is an important aspect that must be free of bias and conflict of interest. Therefore, it is critical that this process is guided by an existing editor team and peer reviewers who are experts in the field of research covered by the reviewed article. The article review process usually takes 4 to 8 weeks. Here, we outline the review process and policy for the Journal of Electrical and Intelligent Systems (JEIS).

The policy of the Peer-review process

  1. The article has never been published in the conference, proceedings, or other scientific journals.
  2. The article submitted to the Journal of Electrical and Intelligent Systems (JEIS) must be suitable with the aim and scope that have been determined; if not appropriate, the author will be recommended to send the article to another journal.
  3. Journal of Electrical and Intelligent Systems (JEIS) only accepts manuscripts in a Word document format, not in PDF.
  4. There is no conflict of interest between the author, editor, and reviewer, and no competition with the author and the financial competition.
  5. The process for collecting articles is conducted through a Call for Papers in every issue of the Journal of Electrical and Intelligent Systems (JEIS).
  6. The Double-blind review will maintain the confidentiality of information about the author and the reviewer throughout the review process, ensuring that the author of the article is free from the risk of plagiarism.
  7. Comments and input provided by the reviewer and editor are objective, constructive, fair, and not imposed by the author.

The Process of Review

  1. The author submits the manuscript on the provided page if they have not accounted, so can register at this link.
  2. After accepting the manuscript by the Editor-in-Chief, it will be checked with a suitable aim and scope of the Journal of Electrical and Intelligent Systems (JEIS). The Editor-in-Chief will appoint a Section Editor to do a further evaluation in order to fulfill the suitability of the article with the style guide and template of the JEIS. In this process, if a discrepancy is found, the In-Chief editor or the Section Editor can reject the manuscript.
  3. The appropriate manuscript will continue to be invited to at least two reviewers for their contributions.
  4. A reviewer is someone with expertise relevant to the article being reviewed. The review time is 10-14 days, but it is not possible to roll out if the reviewer requests more time. After finishing the review, he can send it to the editor for further review.
  5. A reviewer provides a recommendation in a review form, such as Accepted without revision, Accepted with minor revision, Accepted with moderate revision, Accepted with major revision, or Rejected. A Reviewer can also offer other recommendations through the website system by the JEIS as follows:
    • Accept submission: a reviewer chooses this option if the manuscript they review is accepted without improvement.
    • Revisions required: A reviewer chooses this option if the manuscript that they review is accepted after the author has made the necessary repairs.
    • Resubmit for review: a reviewer chooses this option if the manuscript being reviewed requires major changes. Thus, it is necessary to conduct a second review after the author has made the improvements.
    • Resubmit elsewhere: a reviewer chooses this option if the manuscript being reviewed is not within the scope or vision and mission of the journal. With a firm rejection, the manuscript was rejected for this journal and will be suggested for inclusion in another journal.
    • Decline submission: a reviewer chooses this option if the manuscript being reviewed is rejected.
    • See comments: a reviewer chooses this option for the manuscript being reviewed if the reviewer is not capable of making a decision on the manuscript that was reviewed and submits it to the editor or an editor abroad to see and read the comment that he has made.
  6. If the reviewer does not have the same expertise as the manuscript being reviewed, the reviewer can reject and recommend another reviewer with the same capacity and suitable expertise for the manuscript.
  7. The section editor or editor-in-chief will review and complete the comment and feedback, which will be combined into a rejoinder review form and then sent to the author. In this step, the section editor or editor-in-chief can make a provisional decision: Accept a submission, Revision required, Resubmit for review, or Decline submission. The section Editor sends an acknowledgment to a reviewer for their contribution in the review of a manuscript.
  8. The accepted manuscript by the author is then revised for 2 weeks or more, depending on the type of revision.
  9. With the editor's and reviewer's direction, the author's complete revision was returned to the editor for review of suitability.
  10. The editor in chief or the section editor will review and make a final decision to accept or decline the manuscript. However, it does not rule out the possibility for the author to require a second or more revisions.
  11. The accepted manuscript that does not require further revision will be submitted to the copyediting and layout so that the appearance is consistent with the publication in the Journal of Islamic Economic Business and Research. If it finds a weak writing language, it will be used for the proofreading process.
  12. The manuscript is already published in JEIS, will receive a DOI, and will be published in June or December. The paper can also be published in a special issue if the same topic is found in a call for papers.
